Amity School of Natural Resources & Sustainable Development organises Two day training workshop for Indian Forest Service Officers

Amity School of Natural Resources & Sustainable Development organised a Two day training workshop on "Applicability of 73rd PESA Provision to Forest (Recent Constitutional Amendment Conflicts Resolution and Need for Integration with JFM" for Indian Forest Service Officers at Amity University Campus Sector-125 Noida on September 10-11, 2009. It was an interactive workshop among the participants and the distinguished speakers of the workshop. The participants are from the various states of the country

Dr. Aruna Basu Sarkar, IFS, Chief Conservator of Forests and Trust Director, Government of Tamil Nadu as a participant of the workshop said that it was very beneficial and a complete guidance also. How natural resources can be utilized and implemented for various purposes is being discussed at length. She expected the government to conduct more of such seminars and workshops on various related topics also. Conservation of forest is very essential. The problem of depletion of forests can be solved to a great extent and other such related problems need to be addressed.

Ms. Sameeta Rajora, IFS, Government of Madhya Pradesh another participant asserted that everybody now knows about the good and bad practices going around in the country regarding the implementation of the Acts. However, such workshops and seminars need to be organized to make people understand better the conservation of forests and wildlife. The application of the Acts in the protected areas should be properly explained. The typical wildlife habitat should not be disturbed. The departments working for the tribal and gram panchayats should be involved. All the senior officers should come forward to help the needy.
