Amity University Punjab Blends Modernity with Antiquity at Grand Orientation Ceremony
Amity University Punjab, known for its harmonious blend of modern education and India’s spiritual heritage, marked another milestone in its academic journey with a grand Orientation program held on September 1, 2023. The event, which embraced the ancient Vedic Hawan ritual to invoke divine blessings, saw the enthusiastic participation of students and their parents.
The ceremony was graced by eminent personalities including Mr. U. Ramachandran, Senior Vice President of Amity Education Group, Mr. Gauravh Gupta, Vice President of Amity Education Group, and Dr. R.K. Kohli, Vice Chancellor of Amity University Punjab, alongside the dedicated staff and faculty of the university.
The solemn event commenced with the spiritual fervor of the Vedic Hawan, an invocation of the divine and an offering of blessings from the Almighty. This harmonious fusion of tradition and modernity set the tone for the orientation program. The Lamp Lighting ceremony followed, symbolizing the enlightenment of knowledge and the beginning of a new educational journey for the students.
Dr. Preeti Sahni, Country Head of Amity Education Group, warmly welcomed the incoming batch of 2023 and ignited their spirits for the exciting road ahead.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. U. Ramachandran, on behalf of the Founder President Dr. Ashok K Chauhan and Chancellor Dr. Atul Chauhan, highlighted their unwavering commitment to education as a tool for nation-building. He shared a glimpse of the university's rich academic heritage spanning over three decades.
Mr. Gauravh Gupta, in his motivational speech, congratulated the selected students out of a competitive pool of over 6000 applicants. He encouraged them to uphold the legacy of Amity while embracing the technological advancements of the digital era. He stressed the importance of core human values and nurturing family bonds.
Vice Chancellor, Dr. R.K. Kohli, inspired the students to embark on their academic journey with an innovative and research-oriented mindset. He outlined the university's vision to evolve into a global knowledge enterprise while creating an inspiring environment for both students and faculty.
Dr. Dapil Kumar, Registrar, emphasized the importance of discipline, decorum, and adherence to the university's zero-tolerance ragging policy.
The orientation continued with informative sessions on student engagement, university clubs, and committees led by Dr. Shivali Dhingra, Dean Faculty of Management and Dean Student Welfare. Mr. Sahil Kapoor, Associate Director - Business Development & Marketing, shed light on international exposure opportunities and campus life.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Chanderdeep Tandon, Dean- Faculty of Sciences and Engineering, expressing gratitude to all attendees for making the event a success.
