A movie screening organized by Amity School of Architecture and Planning on 25th August, 2023
Amity School of Architecture and Planning, Amity University Gurugram organized a movie screening for the students of all the departments of the college, on 25th August, 2023. The movie named ‘URI- The Surgical Strike’ was selected for screening. Dr. Shashi Mehta and Ms. Harneet Kaur were the coordinators of the event.
The film, “URI- The Surgical Strike”, is based on the surgical strikes conducted in 2016 by the Indian Army, against militant launch pads in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK). Around 35-50 terrorists were reportedly killed in the covert operation in retaliation to the terrorist attack in Uri, that killed 19 Indian soldiers. The primary intend was to restore the feeling of patriotism among the country’s youth. A total of 216 and 5 faculty member attended the screening.
In conclusion, students attended the event in huge numbers, and thus the screening was a wonderful success. It inculcated a sense of pride for our country and respect for the Indian soldiers in the students, along with learning about an important, real- life incident.
